Fertility Financing For Canada

mother and child

As a genealogist, I have found that the sense of importance of family grows the more you research your family tree. Researching your family tree  can make the idea of having children feel like being a part of something much larger than yourself. Learning about our ancestors is learning about ourselves.

Did you know that the vast majority of fertility treatments in Canada are NOT covered by government health plans?

However, there is Fertility Financing available in Canada*!

I am a Financial Broker. I began this career in order to help individuals, couples, and fertility clinics across Canada have access to a reliable source of Fertility Financing.

*For Canada means anyone that has a CREDIT HISTORY in Canada whether or not the person is a Canadian Citizen or someone that is not yet a Canadian but is living in Canada.

If you are an individual, couple, or a  fertility clinic seeking  Financing for fertility treatments, I am here to help.

I can help you obtain the money you need to pay for fertility treatments in order to have children.

Funding is also available so that  fertility clinics can have  financial funding programs in place to best service their patients.

In Canada, persons seeking fertility treatments are frequently shocked to learn that it is only a few consultations and a limited number of fertility treatments that are covered by government health insurance. The vast majority of fertility treatments in Canada are NOT covered by government health insurance.  It is the individual or couple that must bare the brunt of the costs. Ask anyone that has gone through such treatments; it can be very expensive and will become get even more expense if the first treatment does not work.

Why Chose A Private Lender To Assist In Paying For Fertility Treatments in Canada?

Even if you are fortunate enough to have private insurance, there are caps or limits on what services will be covered, and often there are very high deductibles for what many insurance companies consider an elective procedure. (fertility treatments do not treat an underlying disease, therefore they are often considered an elective procedure). If you are relying solely on government funding, you may be very limited in what treatments are available to you.

This is why private lenders rise up to meet the demand.

Let’s take a look at one example in Canada. In the province of Quebec, the freezing (including the proper storage) of a woman’s eggs for 1 year may be covered if she has been diagnosed with Cancer that will impact her fertility.

Otherwise it is not covered and can cost $5500.00 or more!

What If Your Eggs Are Not Viable?

In Canada it is illegal to pay a woman for her eggs, or for a donor to sell her eggs. It is, however, permitted for a recipient to reimburse the expenses of a donor. The average cost of this transaction in Canada is anywhere between $20,000.00 to $40,000.00!

It is important to have the funds to reimburse such expenses, if this is the Fertility Treatment you opt for.

With access to more than one lender through our Financial Services, you will have the money you need to be able to afford the Fertility Treatments best suited to your personal situation.  You will not have to imagine holding your child in your arms anymore, it can be a reality for you!

The Canadian Fertility and Androgyny Society (CFAS) certifies Patients should be aware that it is very difficult to compare the results of one clinic with those of another since each has a unique patient population. Many other factors can affect treatment outcomes

Reproductive Medicine Is A Newer Science

Reproductive Medicine is an ever growing science utilizing the most cutting edge technologies to help create the miracle of life.  It was only in 1843 that scientists learned that conception occurs when a sperm enters an ovum.  Just over 150 years ago there were very few options for anyone challenged with infertility or sterility. For many, remaining childless or adoption were the only options available to them.

The First IVF Baby

On July 25th, 1978 at 11:47 pm at Oldham and District Hospital in Greater Manchester, Lancashire, England the first IVF baby in the world was born. Her name was Louise Joy Brown, and her birth changed everything.  Prior to her birth, her parents had been trying to conceive a baby naturally for 9 years!

You are living in a time when you have way more options than your ancestors could have ever imagined.

The Cost of Fertility Treatments

This is just an overview of some SAMPLE costs associated with different Fertility Treatments that are available in Canada.

  • In Vitro Fertilization (IVF):  $6500.00 +

  • ICSI (in addition to IVF)L $1750.00 +

  • Egg donation (medications and screening tests not included): $8500.00 +

  • Non-invasive analysis of embryo culture media: $2750.00+

  • PESA or TESA to retrieve sperm: $3500 +

Tax Credits Don’t Cover Everything

In Quebec, you can claim a refundable tax credit for expenses related to an in-vitro fertilization treatment that enables you or your spouse to have a child, provided you meet both the following conditions:

  • You were resident in Québec on December 31 of the taxation year covered by the claim.

  • You paid the expenses in that taxation year. Do not take into account expenses for which you were reimbursed or were entitled to a reimbursement, unless the amount reimbursed is included in your income.

  • Neither you nor your spouse had a child before the start of the treatment for which the expenses were paid.

  • A physician has certified that neither you nor your spouse underwent surgical sterilization by vasectomy or tubal ligation for reasons that are not strictly medical.

BUT, You still have to pay out the amounts FIRST before you can claim the amount on the tax credit.  And then you can only claim a portion of the amount, NOT the full amount.   So you will be able to pay back the loan in less than 1 year with a tax credit, so all you have to do is pay out the money first…and THAT is how we can help.
